Individual Therapy

Approach

I practice from a relational, neurodiversity-affirming, and trauma-informed lens, meaning:

  • the therapeutic relationship is central to the process

  • we work to recognize, embrace, and understand unique brain processes

  • and your concerns are viewed in the context of your lived experiences.

In our work together, we'll slow things down, and begin to create a map of your inner world - through reflection, noticing patterns, and creating connections between your experiences. This may involve exploring thoughts, emotions, beliefs, relationships, decision-making processes, and more. Within this framework, we’ll create space for new pathways, deepen self-understanding, and move in a direction which supports the change you’re looking for.

I strive to create a therapy space grounded in openness and respect, where we collaboratively work together to meet your goals. My work draws from Emotionally-focused Individual Therapy (EFIT), Narrative Therapy, Acceptance & Commitment Therapy (ACT), and further informed by Internal Family System (IFS), Compassion-Focused Therapy, and mind-body awareness.

Whatever you may be working through - big, small, overwhelming, or uncertain - let's talk about it.

Areas of Focus

Anxiety & Panic

Neurodivergence, ADHD, ASD, Learning Differences

Life Transitions

Relationship Issues & Interpersonal Conflict

Therapy may also explore areas such as: self-esteem, emotion-regulation, identity, family-dynamics, past & current life stressors, trauma, grief, motivation, coping mechanisms, life adversities, cultural/social/environmental factors, and more.

Couples Therapy

Approach

My approach is shaped by Gottman's Method Couples Therapy and further informed by attachment theory and neurodiversity-affirming practices. Working within this framework, the therapist adopts a neutral position to help address immediate concerns while tending to the foundational layers of the relationship.

Areas of Focus

I focus on working with premarital couples seeking support in conflict-resolution, communication differences, deepening connection & understanding, and cross-neurotype relationships.

Education & Qualifications

Welcome! My name is Sarah, and I am a Registered Psychotherapist (Qualifying). My learning journey began in the field of Computer Science where I specialized in Cognitive Science - exploring relationships between the mind, body, and world around us. I later found myself working in diverse roles supporting youth in my community, specifically focussing on education and mental health. With the hope of offering more direct mental health support, I pursued further education in Counselling Psychology.

I am dedicated to providing quality and ethical care to those I work with, and receive recurring supervision, consultation, and professional training.
