Learning Support is for students seeking additional academic support beyond the classroom. Using a creative, collaborative, and strengths-based approach, students find an encouraging and supportive space to grow.

Learning Together ~ Helping Students Discover Strengths & Strategies
***Learning services are outside the controlled act of psychotherapy, and is not not considered therapy.
Approach to LearningA strengths-based approach recognizes and builds on each student’s unique abilities, interests, and qualities. Difficulties are met with curiosity and compassion, encouraging students to take a pause, ask questions, draw on strengths, and discover new ways of approaching challenges.
A collaborative, student-centered approach values student involvement, inviting learners to play an active role in shaping the structure and direction of sessions. Feeling misunderstood, unheard, anxious, or lacking autonomy can create barriers to learning. Our primary focus is to establish a safe, supportive space that serves as a foundation for academic growth.
Creative approaches provide alternative ways to conceptualize concepts and challenges, supporting problem-solving, adaptability, and student engagement.
At the core - learning is supported by building a trusting and supportive relationship, where students feel comfortable in making mistakes and empowered to engage with new concepts.

The academic support offered is not a substitute for instruction from a certified educator. My approach is informed by previous teaching experience, personal experience, education in psychology, cognitive science, computer Science, and training in Learning Disabilities & Neurodivergence.
In our initial meeting, I will inquire about course material and request access to online learning platforms (if applicable) to help support students in their learning. ~~
Learning support is not Therapy. Although my approach is informed by a background in mental health, there is a clear distinction between psychotherapy services and education services. Please reach out with any additional questions/concerns about this distinction.
About
Hello!
Welcome! My name is Sarah, and I am the owner of Dela Wellness and Learning. Alongside my work in psychotherapy, I bring a deep love for teaching and learning. Before completing my training in Counselling Psychology, I worked in a range of educational roles, often supporting children and youth navigating confidence challenges, social anxiety, or neurodivergence.
By bringing together my counselling background and teaching experience, I aim to create a supportive space where students can explore their own learning processes, identify strengths, and build confidence in themselves as learners.
My approach is informed by previous teaching experience, personal experience, education in psychology & counselling, cognitive science, and professional learning/training in Learning Disabilities & ADHD (through LDAO & PESI).
